Community +
Type: MA Group project
Role: UIUX Design
Time: Feb 2024 - April 2024
Tool: Figma/Google slides
Project brief
A group project that is formed by a theme - community. Our target audience for this project is the people from the community. From improving the moving in, opening convenient store, welcoming with food to a communal playground. We hope this community can integrate the modern society life. Creates more interaction and emphasis.
A website is designed for the community to access all new features and services. A mockup responsive website is created for the final presentation at college to allow the participants to feel like a community member.
Community plus, plus your community.
At Community +, you can be anyone.

Design brief
Allowing the group presentation to be immersive, I was responsible for creating a community website mockup so that the audience could feel like they were part of the community to explore the programmes this integrated community offers.

Problem Statement
-
Lack of Integration: Existing websites and platforms do not offer a one-stop solution for moving-in assistance, local services (e.g., cleaning, repairs), or community engagement.
-
Fragmented Communication: While community activities and discussions exist on separate platforms (social media, community bulletin boards, etc.), there is no single place where residents can engage in discussions and share local experiences.
How might we design a central platform to help new residents access services, events, and connect with neighbors?
Solution
-
Help newcomers quickly integrate into the neighborhood.
-
Provide residents with up-to-date information on community services and activities.
-
Improve communication between residents and foster a stronger, more engaged community.
Measureable outcome
During the group presentation, the Community+ website enhanced the overall presentation experience and received 80% positive feedback from the audience. Users reported feeling more confident about settling into the new community and exploring its offerings through the website.

Additionally, in an anonymous user testing comparison with participants' current community website, the Community+ website achieved a 70% satisfaction rate, demonstrating its effectiveness in providing a better user experience and engagement.
